Supporting Families. Restoring Hope. Pursuing Justice
RGV-FFOMC provides free and confidential, trauma-informed support to families impacted by homicide. (Source: Dr. Edward K. Rynearson) Our organization offers comprehensive assistance that begins with crisis intervention and continues through every stage of a family’s healing and pursuit of justice. We provide weekly support groups, courtroom and police accompaniment, safety planning, case management, and guidance with Crime Victims’ Compensation to ensure families receive the resources they need. Our team helps families prepare Victim Impact Statements, understand their legal rights, and navigate both civil and criminal court proceedings with clarity and support. We also offer home and funeral visits, chaplain services, holiday outreach, and detailed case reviews to meet families where they are in their grief. In addition to direct services, RGV-FFOMC leads ongoing advocacy and prevention efforts. These include our Parole Block Program to help keep dangerous offenders behind bars, community public-awareness campaigns, and second-opinion reviews of unsolved cases using both local expertise and resources from our National POMC affiliation. We also organize annual remembrance and memorial events to honor victims, uplift families, and strengthen the pursuit of justice throughout our community.
